Run for pollution-free Himachal on May 21

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd, which celebrates its 24th Raising Day from May 14, will be organizing `Pollution-Free Himachal` run on May 21 to propagate the message of `Green energy…clean energy` from the historic Ridge maidan to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study. City residents and students will participate in the run. A spokesman of the company said that a symposium has also been organized on `hydro power development` at Peterhoff, which would be addressed by noted hydro power experts from IIT, Roorkee. "The symposium is of special interest for engineers and engineering students of Himachal Pradesh, which is playing a lead role in harnessing its hydel power potential," he added.

He said that a number of other programmes will be held during the week-long celebrations, which include a `kavi sammelan`, a blood donation camp and a cultural function which will be graced by renowned singers.
